Note: Panda Pal will no longer be available after December 31, 2018.

Coloring Panda Pal

Let's get started!

After downloading and printing the image on Neenah 100# White Exact Index cardstock, I pulled out my Prismacolor colored pencils. I have not used them in a long time! I enjoy just lazy coloring with the creamy pencils. They glide over the paper so nicely and make it easy to build layer after layer of pigment.

Panda Pal Digi made into a tag!

Creating the Holiday tag

After coloring, I used an Exacto Knife to cut around Panda Pal's paws to tuck the gift in. Of course, he had to have a Santa hat! He is raised by fun foam and attached to a manila tag. Clear flat sequins, a red/white twine bow and a sentiment of "DO NOT OPEN until Dec 25th" from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages stamp set was added.

Deciding he needed a little sparkle and dimension, I used a black gel pen for his eyes, put Wink of Stella glitter pen on his nose, paws, and fur on the hat. Another possibility to add sparkle would be to use Stickles Stardust Glitter Glue on his hat. Last, I put Glossy Accents on his nose and finished the back with a to/from. I tried to capture the sparkle in the photo I took!

I hope you will download this guy and create! Show us your project! We would love to see it!

List of Supplies

Some of the items that I used are listed below. Click on the item and be taken to Amazon where you can get more information about it. These are called Affiliate Links. Koala T Crafts is an affiliate of Amazon.

This simply means that KTC will get a small commission for any Amazon sales. Even if you decide that you are not interested in that item, you may decide to look at other items and purchase one of those. Because you used a Koala T Crafts link, KTC will get a commission. The neatest part is, there is NO cost to you! It will not change the price of the items you purchase to cover this commission!

Please think about our Community, the Koala T Crafts family, when deciding to shop at Amazon. These funds are used to keep Koala T Crafts on YouTube and Facebook. If you have more questions, please message Jen Evers or any other administrator and we will gladly help!

To make it easy to find Jen's favorites in Amazon, there is a section in the Koala T Crafts Store which lists many items that are used by Jen so they are tried and true! Click the picture below and you will be linked directly to the Amazon page.

HOW TO: DOUBLE DUTCH FANCY CARD

Double Dutch Fancy Card

What beautiful Holiday cards this would make! This card design is unique and easy to create! The bottom flaps open to reveal a secret message and aid in standing it up for display. Make a Birthday card and the recipient can display it on their desk, countertop or mantle.

Deciphering Measurements

After you have picked your pattern papers, sentiments and image for the front of the card, you will need to cut the card base. Use a sturdy cardstock like Neenah Exact Index #110 cardstock or another that you prefer.

Neenah Exact Index #110 Cardstock

65-lb Cardstock Value Pack

The main part of your card will be the size of an A2 (4 1/4"x 5 1/2") card plus the size of the flap. The size of the flap can vary depending on the size of the image chosen for the front of the card. Let's use these measurements, you will need two strips of paper, both can be cut from a single sheet of 8 1/2"x 11" cardstock:
  • 4 1/4"x 9"
  • 8 1/2"x 2"
On the piece that is 9" long, score it at 3 1/2".

On the piece that is 8 1/2" long, score at 2 1/8" on one side, turn it around and score at 2 1/8".

Fold at your score lines.

The center of the 2" strip should be 4 1/4" between score lines. This part should line up perfectly with the end of your 9" piece of cardstock. Attach it to the bottom of the larger side from the scoreline. (The side from the scoreline that is 4 1/4"x 5 1/2".) This will create the card base and should stand on your work table.

Finishing the Card

Add patterned papers, embellishments, and sentiments to your liking. For a small border (1/8") around your pattern paper, cut your paper into:
  • 4"x 3 1/4" for the top
  • 1 3/4"x 1 7/8" for the bottom (cut 2 for flaps)
For the inside of your card, there are two ways that it can be decorated.

One: have a full piece of cardstock for sentiment and signature:
  • 4"x 5 1/4"
Two: have a larger piece above for sentiment, a smaller piece on the bottom to hide behind the flaps:
  • Top 4"x 3 1/4"
  • Bottom 4"x 1 3/4"
