Those of us that are familiar with Distress Oxide Inks are literally jumping for joy! We adore, no, that word is not strong enough! We LOVE the Distress Oxide inks currently available!!

Pigment and Dye

The unique, one-of-a-kind blend that the Oxides have makes them so versatile! On one hand, they are part pigment ink which gives them a bit longer to dry than a dye ink. This gives it the ability to be layered after it is dried. Put on one layer of yellow, dry it, add red, dry it, then add blue! Mud, right? WRONG!

On the other hand, the Oxide inks are part dye ink. This has them drying quicker than a regular pigment ink. Blending is so very easy because of the creamy consistency. Any color you choose will blend next to another color and surprise you! 

But besides being able to layer, blend and stamp well, these guys have a special ability to turn chalk-ish, distressed, oxidized hence the name.

When sprayed with water, whether a fine mist or thorough saturation, they react and change. They have a chalk-like finish that does not rub off, almost like a patena.

What are the colors?

So, let's get down to business! There are 12 NEW colors added to the Distress Oxide line. Although these colors exist in the Distress Ink dye ink line, they have become an addition to a well-loved family of inks. Forty-eight in total now after Spun Sugar, Barn Door, Ripe Persimmon, Mustard Seed, Crushed Olive, Mowed Lawn, Tumbled Glass, Stormy Skies, Dusty Concord, Old Paper (Tim's favorite out of all 60 colors!), Tea Dyed, and Ground Espresso have been added to the list of Distress Oxides available.

Tim Holtz announced on July 11th, 2018 on YouTube that they were shipping from Ranger to stores THAT day!! So, expect them to be available as soon as possible. For those that shop online, there are stores that are taking pre-orders for them. You pay up front and then they ship them to you as soon as they can.

But wait...

So, now that you have done a "Happy Dance", listen up! Did you catch the quick statement he made before wrapping things up??! 

Yes, Tim's friend and sidekick, Mario, spent time labeling everything in Tim's studio! You can find downloadable labels on Ranger's home page, at the bottom, they have a section called 'Organize Your Products'. They have side labels for your ink pads, mini ink pads, for the lids of your paints and your stains and there are videos that go along with tips on how to do this!

But the REALLY cool, stupendously awesome thing is.....(drum roll) Tim let it slip that the last of the Distress Oxide Inks will be released by Ranger by OCTOBER 2018!!! Just in time for the HOLIDAYS!!! Whoopee! I'd jump up and down if I could!!!
