ALCOHOL INKS & YUPO PAPER SERIES: WEEK #6

Making Handmade Cards!

This video turned out to be a viewer participant special! What do you do with all those beautiful papers you made watching the ALCOHOL INKS & YUPO PAPER SERIES? If you are anything like me you have several sheets of each technique, plus some experiments, spread out in front of you.

WEEK #6

How excited was everyone when the video started early? Anyone who was just hanging out was able to vote on each of the examples of the techniques found in the Series. Which ones would be made into cards? (Don't worry, you can catch the video that was recorded LIVE on the Koala T Crafts YouTube Channel, comments and all!)

Ghosting and alcohol blending pens

The 'ghosting' technique was shown in WEEK #3 of the series. Viewers couldn't decide so both examples were made into simple cards. Removing existing alcohol ink then accenting with a black alcohol marker made the project very easy and breathtaking!

WEEK #3: Alcohol Markers and Stamping

Texture, Purple, and Gold!

It was difficult to choose which of the mirrored background examples to use. Viewers chose purple and gold! They were cut down to four brilliant squares. The purple was brought to the foreground due to the purple quilted background! Watch WEEK #4 of the Series to see the final result!

WEEK#4: Mirrored and Glossy Cardstock, Mixatives and Water-based Markers

Bold and Beautious!

So many paper creations to choose from, so many ideas!! Many examples of homemade alcohol inks with watercolor markers and alcohol markers used on Yupo paper, Dura-Lar and photo paper, were next on the agenda. Which did the viewers choose? Watch WEEKS #1 & #2 to see how these eye-catching pieces were made!

WEEK #1: Alcohol Inks and Yupo paper Alternatives

WEEK #2: Getting Your Inks Moving/Techniques and Tools
We watched the process of an experienced crafter take a piece of paper, of which she designed, and create a beautiful card! Truly a piece of "Happy Mail"! The viewer's interaction with the host was fun. Not a one minded the silence while comments were being read.

Watch the Creative Juices Flow!

It was "super cool" to watch behind the scenes. The camera view was widened and we were able to see storage and the whole Koala hat! Watching Jen Evers go through her creating process was a special treat. And though we enjoy the view, we miss seeing her smile as she giggles over a particular comment! Did you leave a comment on the video letting Koala T Crafts know which view you enjoy best!?

Week #5 shall not be left OUT!

This is the link to video WEEK #5. Watch the videos in order if you like. Week by week, they progressively build on techniques that are simple yet create beautiful art!
