Gift box using just a 12 x 12 sheet of paper TUTORIAL!

Welcome Crafters!
We're making a fabulous gift box today
and you only need one sheet
of either double sided card stock, or
pattern paper!

You can also create a belly band to keep it closed since you'll probably be hiding chocolate, or something fantastic
inside for your recipient!

Think:
Thank You
Birthday
Anniversary
Christmas
Sympathy
etc..

SUGGESTED SUPPLIES:
12x12 sheet pattern paper BOX
12 x 12 pattern paper (double sided is best)- https://goo.gl/L9y8XY
Scoring board - https://goo.gl/Pdknb6
Paper Trimmer - http://amzn.to/2urX4jh
Aleene's Tacky Glue - http://amzn.to/2ssYtpu

Here's how you make them!
1. Score your 12 x 12 paper at these marks
(1 1/2, 3, 3 3/4, 8 1/4, 9, and 10 1/2)
turn 90 degrees and score these marks
(3, 4 1/2, 7 1/2, and 9)

2. Burnish all score lines and this is where things get tricky!

3. Fold all 4 corners to the 2nd score line

4. Fold each of the sides (with the most score lines) in to meet the middle

5. Fold those back out and push in each triangle to create a rectangle on each end

6. Then fold them back to center

7.  Bend each of the box sides up, leaving a lip on each side of the wall

8. On one end, push in the two triangle tabs until they meet in the middle while pulling the box upright to crease the last fold

9. Don't forget the other side!

10.  Fold down both of the last score lines to create two flaps that will now be the covers to the box!

CLEAR AS MUD RIGHT?!
If not, as I suspect...   you can watch the video HERE!

Cut a strip of 12 x 1 1/2 and wrap it around to create a belly band to hold your box shut. You can also add glue to the inside flaps to keep the inner portion of the box stable if you like too!

Add your own touch, or make it in white card stock
that you've hand stamped yourself!
You could even personalize it using a set of alphabet
stamps and stamp the recipient's name all over it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Frightful Fall Sneak Peak

Hello Crafters - Please join us for the Debut of Jen Evers New Frightful Fall Digital Stamp Release this Friday, August 25th. They will be available in the Koala T Crafts Store.

Here is a little sneak Peek
of so cute collection
 Frightful Fall.

What's a Digi?

                                                             What is a digi?

A digi is a digital image much like a rubber stamp image. Once you download your digital image, you can just print and color them in the same way you would with a traditional stamp and ink.  The crafting community calls them "digis" for short!
(They are typically black and white line art, but occasionally you can purchase them pre-colored)

Why would I want to use Digis?

Digis are fabulous for creating for many reasons!

  • They take up ZERO space! Save them on your computer!
  • Digis are EASY to work with and you can print them in ANY SIZE!
  • You can put digis from different sets together to create scenes!
  • They are super FUN to COLLECT and you can use them over and over again!

What kind of printer do I need?

You can use any printer you have, but keep in mind that laser prints are better if you're coloring using alcohol markers like OhuhuSpectrum Noirs, or Copics.  Inkjet printers will work too, but they require dry time and even then, they may bleed when using markers. Try out what you have first before running out for a new machine! If you're looking for one now, I recommend the Brother printer HERE

Do I need special paper?

Nope :)  However, you'll find that different kinds of paper produce varying results! Printer paper will bleed through with any wet medium so I don't recommend it.  However, any weight card stock works nicely. I use Neenah white card stock 110#.  Again, use what you have and see what works best for you!

Can I print and share my digis?

Most companies have a set "angel" policy about how their digi stamps are used, so make sure to read the fine print where ever you purchase. Basically, it's considered stealing if you copy and share, print and share, or digitally "share" these images. This takes potential earnings away from the creator. If you love their images, send your friends to their links to purchase their own!

This is an overview on what a digi is. If you have more questions
I'd love to hear from you! Send me a message to
KoalaTCrafts@gmail.com

"I can't wait to see you next video!"
xoxo Jen

Quick and easy purse from just one 12 x 12 piece of cardstock!

WELCOME
TO THE
KOALA T CRAFTS
BLOG!

Did you see these cute purses all over the internet?!
Ever wonder how they are made?

They look complicated don't they?
BUT
They're not!!

You can view the video HERE, but I'll also include the
measurements just below for your convenience!

Here are the measurements all in one tidy photo!

Using one 12 x 12 double sided sheet of card stock,

Score one side at 2 1/2 and 9 1/2
(turn 90 degrees)
Score 1/2, 5, 7, and 11 1/2

Crease all your score lines for the rest of the card
to come together easily.

THE TRICKY PART: (you might want to watch the video for this)
You're going to need to fold the 5 and 7 inch scores down to meet the 2 1/2 and 9 1/2 in score lines to create the
diagonal creases shown in the diagram above.

ONE 12x12 SHEET PURSE
(RECOMMENDED SUPPLIES LIST)
Double Sided 12x12 Patterned Paper -https://goo.gl/oSa7bi
12x12 Cardstock - https://goo.gl/mDgXsW
Paper Trimmer -  http://amzn.to/2urX4jh
Bone folder - https://goo.gl/w3cR2m
Double Sided Sticky Tape - https://goo.gl/DJiJvP
Scotch ATG Gun - http://amzn.to/2rqskk9
ATG Refills - https://goo.gl/CuFxBo
Stickles (in place of embossing liquid) - http://amzn.to/2x3glJY
Aleene’s magnetic tacky sheets - http://amzn.to/2fWFj9L
Flower punch (Tim Holtz tattered flower) - http://amzn.to/2x3i41S
1 ½ in. circle punch - http://amzn.to/2we0TNE
Border Punch - http://amzn.to/2fXOpmE

After that, you just put tape on the funky shapes marked "tape" and glue those down. With just a push out on the flaps created, your purse should just pop together!

In the video I show several ways to alter this purse as a:
CLUTCH
HANDBAG
PURSE
MAGNETIC CLOSURE (2 KINDS)
AND
VELCRO CLOSURE
OR
HANDLES!
