TIM HOLTZ GLASS MEDIA MAT

Tonic Studios Presents:

Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat

Introducing a new surface for artists and paper crafters of all types! It is the Media Mat from Tonic Studios! This fantastic multi-functional tool is a whopping 23"x 14" for creating on any work space!
Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat

To begin with, it is made of tempered glass which is a very durable glass. Tempered glass or toughened glass is a type of safety glass made to increase it's strength. Tempering causes the glass, when broken, to crumble into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards.

The ruler grid is underneath the black tempered glass mat. No worry that the print will come off or wear off!

The sleek black 12"x 14" measuring grid has inches as well as centimeters around the perimeter. Each square on the black glass working area measures 1” x 1”. The bottom features a ruler that measures from 0” to 14”, the side measures from 0” to 12” and the top has a zero displayed in the middle allowing you to easily center your projects.

Grid is divided into 1" squares with
markings down to 1/4 of an inch.

The mat was designed to have a 'work' space and a 'messy' space as Tim puts it. The messy space measures 7.5"x 11" and has a durable, removable craft mat that is heat-resistant like other regular craft mats. It has silicone on the bottom of this removable mat to keep it from sliding around.

Non-Stick Mat For Glass Media Mat

Underneath the removable craft mat is a palette with a grid, 25 squares. Use this area for blending different mediums. Use a wet paint brush or a water brush to pick up Distress Inks, paints, crayons and more off this palette. Your mediums will not dry on this surface.

The whole surface of the Glass Media Mat is blendible!

There are several durable feet on the bottom of the glass media mat which prevent it from moving, and helps to keep your work surface clean! Yes, the ever so slightly raised surface helps maintain your work area by preventing the adhesives, tools, inks, dies and stamps from creeping in on you!

The raised ledge of the media mat has another purpose. The Media Edge is a tool used with the glass media mat. It is made of clear polycarbonate  and designed to create a straight line. The Media Edge has an extra edge piece hanging off the mat keeping the Edge straight.

It IS NOT a ruler! One side is tapered so the line of a pen or pencil is accurate for drawing. The other side has a metal edge for cutting. The Media Edge can also help align sentiments, foam letter stamps and numbers.

It is paired with an ergonomic handled  polymer Media Scraper, used to remove material off your non-stick mat. It will not scratch the media mat! The Scraper and Media Edge are sold together but separately from the glass media mat. You may also purchase a replacement removable craft mat.

I can't wait to own a Media Mat and the tools! They may be sold out at your favorite store but be patient, Tonic Studios is making and shipping them out as fast as they can!

I would love to read your thoughts on this new item! Leave your comments below!

Remember, great things happen to those that create!
